San Mateo Celebrates! — April 19–25, 2026
San Mateo Celebrates! is a week-long community festival amplifying the connection, discovery, and exploration that happens in our libraries year-round. Held during National Library Week, we invite residents and visitors alike to experience the library as a living civic space where ideas, culture, and community meet.
The 2026 festival is especially meaningful as it coincides with the 20th anniversary of the San Mateo Public Library Main Branch, a building that has served as a gathering place for learning, imagination, and the exchange of ideas and cultures since opening in 2006. Throughout the week, the library will host conversations, exhibits, performances, and family-friendly activities that reflect the past, present, and future of our community.
